About Gemma
I am a therapist working privately and in schools as an NHS Qualified Mental Health and Wellbeing/ Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner.
My work focuses on guiding families through their children’s behavioural changes, working 1-1 with children and working within schools to support teachers to manage children’s feelings, such as anxiety, anger and worry.
I value the importance of creativity and play, enabling a safe environment to explore challenging feelings.
I have experience supporting children, adolescents and families with:
-
Behavioural issues, including outbursts, panic attacks and anxiety
-
School refusal, friendship issues and school-related worries
-
Social skills development and self-esteem
-
Emotional regulation
As a former primary school teacher with over 10 years’ experience, I cherished my additional pastoral roles of school subject lead in PSHE and Student Teacher Mentor, as this allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of children’s emotional needs leading me to retrain as a therapist. I am dedicated to helping children build a strong sense of self and thrive in life.
In my work, I draw upon a range of therapeutic modalities, including sand play, NLP, coaching, picture therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Mindfulness, tailored to the unique needs of each client.
